Setting up custom email alerts

Hey guys. I'm a first time poster, so please be nice to me

I'm trying to figure out how to set up a custom email alert/notification for 1 individual email account.

I have set up in Microsoft Office Outlook that whenever the alarm system company sends me an email, I get a notification pop-up on my Outlook.

Is there a way that I can sort of do the same thing on my phone?

I have a Droid Razr with Android version 2.3.6.

Yes it is. What email do you use?

I use Gmail. I have mine set up so that my notification is different when I get an email from my boss. I think that there are some email apps (maybe K9) that include a popup, or there are some widgets you could use.

You can add email accounts to your phone, especially gmail accounts which have their own settings in the gmail app. You can even have different for priority & normal inbox.
