Help Settings About phone status

What do you mean by 'own number'? Do you mean why doesn't it say Galaxy S2 or why doesn't it show your phone number? Or is it another number you're looking for?
 
Yeah mine says the phone number is the old one the sim card came with before I switched my number. If you want to add it you'll have to borrow a friends blackberry or iphone and put your sim in that as these have advanced sim options which let you change this.
 
I get it. That means the phone number is read from the sim card directly and it needs to be set there before it appears. So only a blackberry or IP can do this, or does Android can, just don't know how....

Anybody?

I think you may be confused with editing your number in your profile.
Contacts>menu>my profile>menu>edit

This will not affect the number stored in settings>about phone>status

A blackberry or another handset with advanced sim capabilities is the only way (unless perhaps there is a 3rd party app that can do it)
 
i've searched for an app (coz i got a welcome message pop-up on my sim from an old phone that i cant delete0, but can't find one anywhere - so if anyone knows of one......

You are correct I cannot change in the about phone settings. Sorry about that! Just knew I had changed it somewhere!:o
