Settings and back button

Hi, I have owned a galaxy S3 for 3 months, and it's still unrooted. My issue is that recently the back and settings button will act as if I had hit them a thousand times. Meaning my phone would just keep vibrating over, and over again which makes it difficult to use because I am then either constantly struggling to stay on one page, or have the setting menu pop up and disappear every half second. The first time this happened was a few days ago, but it wasn't anything like it is now.

Did your phone get damaged under heavy rain fall or fell in water? This sounds like water damage...

Ho water damage, but I have dropped it once from around knee height.
