Root Settings reverting

I am currently running PlayfulGods CM7 rom. I've been switching roms quite often (maybe once every couple of weeks due to filling up memory or needing GPS). I've tried Reppards CM7 and I have the same issue. I have Brightness Level widget, once I poke the level of brightness I want, screen closes and brightness reverts. I tried to change ringtones, notification tones, brightness (in settings), CM7 settings, status bar battery %, lockscreen style and incoming call style, and so on. Everything reverts back to default. Ive tried wiping all cache, nothing. Wiping all user data and starting fresh, nothing. I've got a feeling that somehow I will have to use LGNPST to reflash the phone, re-root it to get it to work correctly. (My PC has issues and LGNPST doesnt like to work properly. So I've got a major issue on my hands if that is the only solution.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Or know how to resolve it?

I had the same problem with my brightness levels and someone said it may be broken apps. There were two solutions, one being long winded and involved steps I didnt have the option to take, the other was fixing permissions. Luckily fixing permissions worked for me. It may be worth a shot.

My problem is every setting reverts back to default. Somehow, I downloaded a notification tone with Zedge and applied it. I could not change it to anything else. I had to delete the tone. THEN, my phone started using the backup tone (that two tone deal) and I couldnt change it. Many settings wont stick. This is a recent problem ( started within the week) Before this, most roms worked very well, overclocking fine, no issues what-so-ever.

Reflash the rom again. If this never happend on any other rom then its probably corrupted somehow

I've tried flashing Reppards CM7, BobZHomes CM7. Same issue. Redownloaded PlayfulGod's CM7, same. Now if I go back to 2.2.1, the sense rom, everything is fine. I am about to atempt to restart from scratch with LGNPST. I hope that works. CM7 rocks.

UPDATE : Well the setting problem is gone. Now all my numbers are zeroed out!! Sooo. Now I get to fiddle with QPST and QXDN (whatever it is). I've been trying to get these darned numbers to stick and the always seem to zero themselves back out. I cant seem to write the ESN, buffer issue. I see its common among these phones. I got the MEID writen, and it didnt stick. SO now im updating to 2.2.2 to see what happens. Wish me luck. I'll need it.

Well upgrading my phone brought my numbers back except for my MIN and the Home SID. Had to call metro. NOW. Is there a custom recovery available for the 2.2.2 version of the optimus m? Rooting? I read gingerbreak sometimes works, but I'm not that lucky.

Ive been waiting for a root that is available for 2.2.2 but there still isnt unfortuantely. I did the downgrade method about 5 months ago and have been waiting ever since. The downgrade is your only hope for having root. I hope you get everything working man. I had my numbers zeroed out while downgrading and i spend 3 sleepless nights trying to fix it lol

3 sleepless nights?!?!?! HOLY CRAP! It took me a month for my first time xD then I got enough courage to try again. It took 10-40mins.. :l I felt like an idiot back then lol. Kept getting g diag error and cried like: PLEASE WORK! My future wifey might be texting me Lmfao. But its okay now. And downgrading isn't suppose to take off service. Unless you flashed the wrong bin c:

haha nice. well i never had to flash again after i got service back so i never bothered to find the right bin lol. And i back up all my info every time i flash a new prl with QPST so if i happen to ever get zeroed out again i can fix it in like 2 minutes lol. And i definately felt like an idiot back then too lol. But im thinking about rooting my girlfriends OM so would you care to link me to a bin that wont make me look like an idiot again? lol

This is the link I used my first time rooting from 2.2.1. I also used it the other day to downgrade back from 2.2.2. All of the files needed are supplied in the links within the page.
