Setup without a sim card

Hi All,

Does anybody know if I can perform the inital setup without a having a sim card?

I will only have the sim card available in a couple of days, and I was wondering if I can setup my Hero via wireless without a sim card installed.

Not sure if I would bother trying as without the SIM card, the phone will be a bit useless.

Not sure about not physically having a SIM card, but when I got my Hero, it took Vodafone 48 hours to actually connect me, and in that time I had my phone set up and running fine. Obviously no texts or calls but on the wireless network at my house it worked fine.
