Root SGH t-599n Stock Deodexed ROM

Hya boss just be clam and relax. The best way to fix this is philz touch recovery. Go download flash the pda with Odin. Reflash the ROM you want . if this does not work have you made a back up ?

I can't get it to boot, flashed in CWMR, prior to flashing I used it to do a wipe data/factory reset in it, then wipe partition cache or whatever and wiped dalvic cache, it just stayed on the metroPCS Logo, I tried flashing it again. Then rebooted into recovery and did a CWMR factory reset/wipe data and still am sitting at the metroPCS screen.

What next, what I am I missing?

Ugghhh flashed TWRP Wiped everything and factory reset everything 3 times, then flashed CWMR and wiped data factory reset and installed rom now it doesn't even make it past the T599N screen and just reboots... Grrrr @ CWMR Not having an advanced enough wipe method and complicated rom's with specific flashing.

Well the wipe data/factory reset option only formats data, android/secure, and the cache I think so make sure you're formatting system as well. Not sure if cwm has the clean to install a new rom option. You don't have to do it 3 times lol. Just once is enough and it's not that complicated. You wipe and you flash lol pretty simple.

Ohh nevermind I found this and it worked like a charm: XDA - [INDEX][SGH-T599x][FIRMWARE] I used the prerooted odin image, then terminal flashed my modem, I was just trying to get metroStock back for experimental reasons... LoL

I'd hopped all over today from AOKP (In PhanDroid) to MIUI (Also in Phandroid), I'm no noob to flashing and minor exploitations of root and importing other app's and theming...

No it doesn't have that option from what I saw.

Now I'm gunna make TWRP Backup of metroStock then play around and experiment around some.

Look at my Thanks meter on XDA, I'm no developer or anything yet, just a mad modder! LoL

I'll see what I can do to contribute to this lil device before I upgrade, I came on as an emergency device from a broken i317 AT&T Note 2, I unlocked and rooted myself... The logic board just up and randomly died on me yesterday, possibly due to the cracked screen going on unrepaired for a year.

In the midst of it all I somehow wiped Download Mode... I couldn't get it to go into it for the life of me, until I flashed MIUI Over again let it boot and then powered down and tried again and wham I got in no problem. haha

I flashed this rom that I downloaded. It does not work. This image is messed up. I even downloaded again to rule out a bad download. Nope, same scenario. I am so glad that I made a nandroid backup of my stock unrooted rom. In fact, that is the very first thing I did when I got this phone. This is a true stock nandroid backup, untouched. Because this stock zip image that I downloaded does not work.

What does that mean? Are you saying you couldn't get it to boot or what???

The rom installs no problem but when I reboot. I see the boot logo only to reboot itself back to the boot logo. The rom does not load at all.

So you mean you get stuck in a boot loop. Make sure you wipe everything before flashing.

Oh I tried that. Even flashed the original bootloader. I even wiped system along with dalvik data and cache and flashed the zip again. Install is successful but, yet again. Get stuck on a bootloop. The only thing I can think of is this zip is not twrp compatible. But if this is a stock rom it should work but it doesn't. When I restore from the nandroid backup. The rom loads just fine, yet it too is stock. Just weird that the zip does not work though.

If memory serves me correct this will not work on twrp you will need cwm only based, try again with phillz recovery or another aosp based recovery. Just know you are messing with a stock ROM so aosp might not work if all else fails try gturns ROM I based a lot of my mods on his ROM and got it working

The nandroid backup is the os that came with this phone factory stock. I even updated twrp from 2.7 to 2.8 and surprised it still boots this factory stock rom. So this makes me believe that the zip is not truly stock. And what I mean stock. I mean factory stock. Unless the flashable zip itself needs to be flashed like you say cwm based. So my question is. If I was to flash using cwm and it boots up and then later switch back to twrp. Will it still boot?

Recoveries have nothing to do with whether or not a rom boots up. You could switch between the stock recovery, cwm, philz touch, and twrp and your rom would still boot up normally. Also this rom IS stock. It's just been deodexed like the title says. To answer your question though it would still boot up. It would just be better to create a new backup with cwm and stick with that.
