SGS-2 Battery Upgrade !

Most phones have those extended batteries with the ugly-as-sin back covers, just do a search on Amazon or something.

I know Samsung have an official 2000mAh batetry with larger back cover. It probably won't make the phone too much bigger. Not sure what would happen if using 2500mAh or larger. Though IMHO, we shouldn't play around with batteries too much since the range in quality can be quite large. Better to get originals.

Samsung has two official extended batteries for the SGS2, and both are fairly decent. The first is the 2000mAh battery mentioned by Russell Ng above. It makes the back more flush, gets rid of the lip, and generally makes the SGS2 look the way many felt it should have (rather than thinning out the middle just so that they could use that as the thickness measurement). See this video below.

Their second battery is actually a power pack (battery inside a case), similar to the ones made for the iPhone. It's 1300mAh, giving you 2950mAh total. While it has juice, your phone will display as charging or plugged in since this is still an external battery. Again, see the video below.

You can buy them at many places, including Expansys.

My Only concern with the first video is, the extended battery shown in it, from the video though it does look a perfect fit what I was curious to know and see is if it makes any changes to the shape of the back cover from the back of the phone like for e.g since it is a thicker batter than the one that comes as a default does it pushes the cover a bit upwards from the back and kind of looks and feels if it is forcibly put in there, made to fit in there. Plus how much does it add to the weight even that is something that I am curious to know.

You get a new cover with the new battery that makes the phone as thick as the lip at the bottom and recesses the camera slightly.
