Help sgs mail notifications

Hi, i've asked the same question on xda with no luck, so i hope somebody will point to right direction here.
In short, i don't know how to setup 'push mail' on my gmail accounts, every time i turn auto-sync on, it turns itself off after awhile, than i have to manually check gmail and refresh to get mails.

No taskillers, no custom roms, default eclair on the phone.

tnx in advance

Settings --> Accounts and Sync --> Click on your Google Account, make sure that Sync Gmail is enabled. Make sure Background Data is also enabled. Thats all.

Is that what you did already?

heh yeah, that's why i'm clueless :(

background data and autosync enabled, contacts, gmail and calendar enabled, on both accounts, maybe 2 accounts are causing the problem?
anyway, after some time i go back to accounts&settings and autosync is off, damn it :)

What firmware are you on?

Have you tried setting it up in the Exchange email app?

EDIT: No apps/settings messing with your mobile data?

pda XFJM3 phone XXJM1

didn't try with exchange app, well about apps i have 10-15 (mostly widgets) and all are widely known (launcher pro etc), hard way would be to disable/uninstall one by one

snapper.fishes, no i don't, only default power control widget

actually, background data is o.k., only thing that is constantly turning off is autosync, i guess i'll have to use some deduction process..
but if you do not have the same issues, than i will be able to solve it, i thought maybe it's common bug with sgs :)

ok, this will sound stupid but
my power control widget was not in sync with actual autosync in settings, so from homescreen it looked like it is off, so every time i ticked that icon i was actually turning it off for real lol
clearing cash in 'manage aplications' did the job (not sure why) so i now see actual status of syncing on my homescreen, and will avoid using that icon anyway :)

sry for trouble guys, and tnx for your time
