[SGS3-R530M] Metropolis Rom [4.3 Touchwiz]

Thanks everyone i got the navigation and local sorted out. But i still need help with alsamixer. It wont install i tried to fix permissions and wiped caches and still no luck.

Are you trying to install it as a separate apk or from the play store?

hhmmm, well try this. go to recovery, wipe dalvik/cache & fix permissions. then try it again. but before you do that, are you on this rom on 1.4

im a little late on the matter at hand.. but what is happening exactly when you try to install..? just says it cant..? did you by any chance adjust your lcd density?

also.. im sure this been asked already but have you altered or flashed anything over the rom?

Sup peeps!!!!
Long time no see... sorry guys - I've had some health issues and haven't been around for a while, so please forgive me for not hanging out to nag and give everyone he(l as usual. lol

Let me tick everyone off (again, as usual LOL) and start by saying this;

First of all - BIG kudos to the Shabmeister, and all involved in 1.4.0.... it's exactly what I've been waiting for at last, and I sear to all that's Holy, you guys absolutely ROCK.

Second - while I know it's a dead (and probably best forgotten) topic, I have to interject my 2 pence on this - while hopefully not kicking a hornets nest;

I'm absolutely shocked at the drama I've returned to see about Shabby's S3 being sold... honestly people - IMHO, the man devoted MANY long hours into improving our device, and personally, if I could have afforded it (sans medical bills for the last year), I would have bought him THREE S3's for all the effort he's done for us.
Whatever mula he may have got by selling it, I can't help but feel he's EARNED it X3, if not more so. I hope my opinion doesn't offend anyone, but it is what it is... I understand how a Dev device is supposed to be handled, but sometimes circumstances take precedence to the 'norm'.

We have, in LARGE part, what we DO on the Metro S3 due to his efforts - granted, others may have done as much, or even more (and God bless them too), but... other than that - all I wanted to say is this;

Shabby, and all who helped get us this far (you KNOW who you are) - hit me up, come see me, and I'll treat you and your family to an awesome time on Florida's BEST fishing, BBQ, BEER, and beaches - on me.
Without mentioning names (again - you know who you are), I want you to know this - you have my DEEPEST respect and admiration.

And God bless you for your service to our country brothers... those who served know what I mean.

And to everyone else - I missed your sorry azses for the last month too . LOL
(seriously)

It's good to be home again...

I missed you guys.

- Some android applications have some lag when they scroll.

I found in logcat that garbage collector is working to much when I do some scroll in application.

I googled about it and found the 'scrollingcache' function inside android making problem.

Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config.

But not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.

So the mod I'll do will disable the scrollingcache throughout the Android OS.

All apps will have no problem with scrollingcache.

I've had scrolling improvements with facebook,playerpro,poweramp,gallery apps , etc.

great news guys, i figured out how to have google code send me emails when an issue is posted on the bug tracker! so now ill know when things are actually problems :P.

glad to see it was getting some use, shame i was a bit late since i never got notified it was being used, but that is fixed now :D. i can also add project people to assist and can help deal with bugs and address them. this is honestly teh best way ive ever dealt with bugs, people can submit errors, then others can comment saying they have it too. i can change priority/mark it as fixed and all the while it keeps people being able to see what are current issues in metropolis so no having to swim through pages of threads :D

soundsgreat!! i hope im not stepping on any toes here but since my rom is basically based off this rom than it would help me to know what issues exhist, and i could also be of use by helping others with anything i can :D!!

again not trying to step on toes shabby, but i feel i owe you a great deal so anyway i can make your life easier than i wont mind..

stomp away man :P im all for friendly competition but its just that man, friendly :). you do great work and your rom reflects that.

im still learning the basics on their coding site but turns out i can have a wiki, i already added a few people to help with issues. you can file an "issue" and change teh settings of priority, you can also set it as instead a feature request and so much more. when someone has an issue they can instead see at a glace if that same problem has happened before, if it was fixed or what. should you get teh time big l id recommend you set one up too.

as for current bugs it seems the only one is browser in multiview is having some issues. https://code.google.com/p/metropolis-rom/issues/detail?id=7 i changed teh issue status to accepted to amrk that i see its a bug and im working on it, when i get a fix ill mark it as verified until the fix is confirmed to be working (then it goes to done)

haha actually i was having an issue like that myself and fixed it by wiping internet data in device settings.. same exact error but jus browser in general.. wasn't trying it in multiwindow lol, i haven't taken the time yet to learn that whole error reporting deal but i will :D

not saying this method will fix the issue but i know it's due to a syncing issue.. the browser sync's with your google acount and stuff it's all weird haha

EDIT: just for confirmation i tested the browser in multiwindow and all works fine :D but i do have a MW Mod added to my rom :/ not sure if that would make or break the deal..?

Is there anyway to keep the home button from turning on the screen once its off. I perfer to have to use the power button. As it seems the screen turns on in my pocket all the time and kills my battery. I think disabling wake with home button would help.
