Root ShadowRom In Rom Manager.

I am not sure why you have had so many battery pulls. I still have had zero...I wiped everything and loaded the aosp kernel from king first then the ROM...I restored just APPs i had downloaded with titanium (Not all apps because there were so many HTC ones) and I am running LP Plus and am having zero issues. I do not have a handle on my battery yet though...seems like it goes pretty damn fast but still I am not too sure.

Battery has been really good for me running Incognito Red or Bold and Black themes (dark themes) but really bad yesterday running Inverted Incognito Theme (white). Overall I am very happy with the battery use and so far still no freezes or reboots :)

anyone having trouble downloading mms messages? everytime i get one and i try to download it, it seems my 3g shuts off and it wont download. weird.

I did the exact same thing. It must be something with an app or wireless or something. One time the phone started vibrating and it was locked up. Constant vibrate, no response, freaky. Had to pull the battery on that one obviously. Oh well, no big deal, I'm fine with what I have now.

I had that same problem with virtuous 2.7 so weird...same exact issue. As soon as I came to shadow it went away but im sure if I had wiped and went back to virtuous the problem would go away. And for the vibrating thing I haf that problem with virtuous also. I am suspecting it was from a bad install or something.

all is good agian. for some stupid reason when i did my ti back up, it selected apps plus system data. reinstalled again with just apps and all is good.

Well I did it, I flashed ShadowRom and with that plus LauncherPro I'm in Heaven. This thing runs so much faster than sense IMO. I saw that there's a kernel out that let's you overclock this Rom. I've downloaded it but I don't know what to do now. I've never flashed a kernel. Looks like I need to boot into recovery and wipe Dalvik Cache? and then search for the zip update on my sd card in recovery after that. Is that how I do it?

I have a few more questions that I couldn't find the answers to: Do I need to download SetCPU to set up when the phone overclocks and underclocks itself? When I wipe the dalvik cache will it delete any apps or settings on my phone? When I load the kernel will it delete any apps or setting on my phone? Anything else I might need to know?

Just install the same way as you would an update.zip using ROM manager. Do not wipe data cache but make a backup.

Yes you need to download setcpu. Every time I flash new kernels I just use ROM manager as I explained up above. No apps or settings should be deleted. I have not messed with setcpu and overclocking underclocking the processor with shadow yet...I have not had a need to :)

Okay so I installed the Kernel and SetCPU but I have no clue how to use SetCPU. Takes me to a main screen and I hit auto detect. Now I'm on the real main screen but I don't know what to do from here. I would like overclocked to the max and then underclocked to like 300 when the screen is off which is what I've heard you guys doing on here. I suppose I need to set profiles but again I know nothing about this stuff. Scaling on demand? Set on boot? Profiles? Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to do? You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the info! I think I made a boo-boo before I saw this post though. I set the min and max on the main page to the highest numbers possible to see what it would do and now I'm stuck in a boot loop. Anything I can do besides a nandroid restore?

Yeah, you must have used the "set on boot" feature too. You can try to get to setcpu quickly upon boot and change it but that didn't work for me back when I was new to setcpu... I did a nandroid restore.

Phew, yes thank you! That worked. So what's the sweet spot for high performance? Max 1.113 and Min 1.113 with a profile set for screen off? My Quads are in the 1500's not seeing the 1700's like some of you other guys and I'm wondering why.

You have to experiment. Some phones clock higher than others. Mine doesn't clock very high [with my current kernel it doesn't overclock at all] but I'm not interested in overclocking anyway. I do use underclocking, especially with the screen-off setting, for battery power savings though.

Okay something is going wrong with my setup. I have ShadowRom and the King Kernel with SetCPU set to conservative and not overclocked. SetCPU is set to 998mhz or whatever the highest before 1ghz is. My phone will completely lose signal 2-3 times a day that only a reboot will fix. On top of that it restarts itself 4-5 times a day. Do you guys think this is a ShadowRom issue or could it just be the kernel? I'm going to roll back to just ShadowRom, no custom kernel and see if this helps, if not any other stable Vanilla Froyo Roms out there for the INC? I want bluetooth, 3g, and wifi all working. I really flashed Vanilla so I could pair a wiimote to my INC but haven't tried it yet. I've heard it works on ShadowRom so that would be a big plus too in a ROM...

I had that problem too with KK #1. Make sure you are using #1 btw. Since this is a AOSP Rom the Sense focused kernels KK #2-5 should not work. Adrenalyn make makes an AOSP kernel: http://adrynalyne.us/files/kernels/cm6_ruby/battery_aosp.zip. I had very few issues with it while using ShadowRom. But I'm wondering now if I wiped the dalvik cache or not before I flashed it and if that would help. Hrmmm... at any rate there is also of course the stock kernel too. It's the only one thus far that I haven't had any issues with.

Don't confuse a vanilla rom (like SkyRaider Vanilla RC3) that has been deodexed with a stock AOSP rom. SR Vanilla still has some HTC dependencies with much of the Sense stuff stripped out. If I am wrong about that, someone please correct me. ShadowRom for example has no HTC anything on it anywhere. It is truly built on the open source platform that CM/Ruby/Etc are. It is also why Vanilla and Sense ROMs can see the internal memory. AOSP ROMs by default don't because each manufacturer may or may not provide anything that can be used.

From lurking in the ShadowRom IRC channel it seems like the updates coming in ShadowRom 0.0.2 will be awesome. I was (still am actually) a huge SR fan. But right now I'm running ShadowRom. The commitment of the devs is on par with ihtfp69 of SkyRaider. Meaning they are fully dedicated to releasing tested and innovative stuff. If there are issues they are fixed almost immediately. Impressive from only having one or two guys developing for it. Especially since the AOSP rom can be used on many different devices.

/heres your change for my .02 cents heh end up being a longer post than intended

Anyone use the setCPU settings in the ShadowROM Performance settings?

I do. From what I understand you can use both SetCPU and the SetCPU like performance settings that come with ShadowRom. The reason being that the ShadowRom performance settings get set very early on in the boot process and is set only on boot. It does not run as a service. SetCPU gets loaded after and runs as a service. From the thread I read (citation missing) you basically the best of both worlds. The faster boot from the ShadowRom stuff and the ability to use profiles via SetCPU. The other thing they pointed out was to not bother using OnDemand because it takes cpu cycles to calculate the needed adjustment obviously. They suggested to either use performance or conservative in your SetCPU profiles for your various rules. This will probably split opinions the way "do task managers work" topic has. People will swear by one or the other.
