Help Shattered Screen/No visual or touch Backup to PC

benjohns

Lurker
Hi all, first time poster and it comes at a time when I could really use some help. I shattered the screen of my rezound, and got my insurance replacement. However, when I first got my rezound, I used my PC and transferred all my files that were not on my SD card from the actual phone. I would like to do the same thing, and I feel it must be fairly soon as I need to send the old one back to the insurance company.

Thanks in advance.

BJ

Does your PC acknowledge your phone when you plug it in? Are you able to drag and drop all of your files from internal storage and the SD Card?
Also, welcome to the forums!

The drives show up, but since I have no touch or visual on the phone, I cannot make it a USB drive, so the drives don't work. I've tried installing a screen controller using the SDK but it's been futile.

you only have to make the phone a USB drive if you want to access your SD card. Just take out the SD card and keep it or get an SD card to USB adapter. If it were me, i would just keep my SD card and send back the phone without one.

Not all my media is stored on the sd card, that's why I need to get not the phones memory to grab all of it off before I send back. The time is approaching quickly and I could really use some help. I tried to get a screen viewer, but it won't work, instructions on that matter are all but clear. Any help you gurus can provide would be a great help. Thanks again

I don't know what to tell you. Your internal storage should be available from you computer regardless of the condition of your screen. You only need to switch your phone to "Disk Drive" if you want to be able to access your SD Card through your computer.

The only thing I can think of that would be keeping you from accessing your internal memory is if the phone is off. If the phone is on, you can access that memory location and just drag and drop all the files that you want off of your phone onto your computer.

If for some reason, you can't do that, than there might be more damage to the phone than just the screen. With out knowing exactly what you're trying to retrieve its hard for me the speculate what's wrong. I just know for my phone, i can connect it to the computer and access the internal memory without having to do anything on the phone's end.
