I am counting the days until my contract with AT&T runs out. I'm even considering paying the cancellation fee to get out of it.
If/When I do, I'm going with Verizon. At the moment, the problem I'm having is that when phones go for free, like the HTC Incredible is now (at Best Buy w/ a 2 year contract), their shelf life seems to diminish - that is to say, the time of how long they're going to last until they're replaced by something bigger and better.
I've heard rumors of an HTC Incredible "HD" that has Verizon's 4G LTE support. Those same rumors said it was supposed to drop in early 2011.
I know it's a good phone from several friends and perhaps thousands of reviews online. I just can't stand the thought of being that guy who buys something, only to have a WAY BETTER version of that same thing I just bought come out a month later. (True story: I bought an iPod Touch G3 and a little over a month later, the iPod Touch G4 was released.)
From what I've seen, the speed difference between 3G and 4G is pretty staggering. (Then again, that opinion comes from watching a "demo" about verizon's 4G LTE, comparing DSL internet, 3G, and 4G speeds performing various tasks.)
Are 3G phones capable of using 4G speeds? No, right? Should I wait for an HTC 4G phone from Verizon? Or just go upgrade now to the Incredible?
