I don't think they are. I think it's Verizon's responsibility to hold off on shipping stuff, not FedEx's responsibility to hold off on delivering.

My guess is that as soon as Verizon hands it over to FedEx, FedEx just does its normal thing and delivers it according to normal delivery routes and schedules.
 
I was told mine would be going to the Santa Fe Springs location for delivery to Commerce. I asked if I could pick it up early and I was told no. Verizon has to authorize it to get picked up at FedEx.

Did you call the destination sort facility? You might have better luck there if you didn't call them already.

Unfortunately, no. They will hold packages until a particular date for delivery. Much as they are doing to mine right now. It is literally 10 blocks away and won't be delivered for two days.

Ship date Apr 26th
Estimated delivery - Apr 28th by 4:30pm
FexEx 2day service indirect...glad they didn't charge me for overnight!
I'll post again when I see its been sent out!
 
so whats the consensus? do you think all the shipments will be held and delivered on the 28th/29th? or do you think people will start getting them tomorrow?

Hello; been lurking for a while. Heres the long and the short of it...

Ordered online 4/19 in evening
Order number 327407xxx
VZ site said delivery in 2-3 business days since early Sunday
Got email w/tracking number 3pm today and delivery sched for 4/28 by 7pm
(I'm on long island and its in PA now)
Gonna try and go to sorting facility tomorrow; it's right by work.

i bet anything we start getting them tomorrow. mine shows a delivery date of tomorrow by 3pm. if verizon wanted them to hold it, the delivery date would be the 29th, not the 27th. can't wait to get this sucker tomorrow!
 
So for those of us whose phones had to go through the Memphis hub...has anyone had their info updated to show that the phone has actually left? Mine shows that it arrived there early yesterday evening, but so far is has yet to go any further.

I have a couple friends at the local fedex facility. So if im lucky it gets there tonight and I can pick it up tomorrow. My local fedex facility is in rocklin

It was picked up in West Chester, PA at 4:25pm and says it will be delivered Wednesday, April 28 by 4:30pm. Since I live in Philadelphia hopefully it will be here sooner!

It will be intersting to see what happens. My package has not moved since it was scanned at Newark at 6 AM this morning.
 
I live IN Ontario. I am literally 5 miles from the distribution center. Is there any way of just going to the dist center and picking it up?

Two days to travel 5 miles...
