Shooting at Batman premiere

It might be the one that survived a mall shooting recently. That's the only name that has came out of the victims.

Hmm thought they said columbine, but could be wrong, still Sh*tty, you survive one nut shooting a place up to just be killed by another crazy shooting a place up.:(

One of the girls killed was from Michigan ( as I am ), she survived a mass shooting in Toronto before she became a part of this horrible ordeal.

Prayers go out to all of the victims families and to those that are recovering.

Sometimes you wonder why people do things like this. I just hope that this guy gets what is coming to him.

Sick...just sick

I agree, this is a very sad thing. :(

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

That thread is on the politics. This thread isn't for that reason. :)

Correct. Just thought folks could go & give their political views on this topic as the events that happened are how that thread was started. Sorry, should have been more specific was not implying that they be merged.

I'm the OP of that thread, and I don't recall starting it in politics. I certainly didn't intend for it to be in politics! If there's a political reason for putting my thread there, it wasn't my political reason.

IMHO this is a topic that we should be unified by, not divided.

I posted in the politics thread and will leave that stuff there.

But I live about five miles away from the theater. I had a few friends that were there, luckily they all made it out okay.

It's definitely much different when it hits so close to home. Hearing about Virginia Tech is one thing since it's all the way across the country, but hearing about this and knowing I've been in that theater countless of times is so creepy and eerie.

It makes me think about the what ifs. I was heavily considering going to the midnight premier (granted I wouldn't have gone to that theater), but I decided to be responsible and get enough sleep for work. It makes you think about how a few simple choices I made last night could've changed everything. Makes you really appreciate life and really see how things can shatter in a moment.

The community really pulled together to help everyone since. Instead of waiting for ambulances, policemen and bystanders were taking people to the hospital and got the critically wounded into surgery in under 30 minutes from the incident. Though it was a horrible day all around, it was nice to see some hope in the community being able to pull together and help each other.

I agree.

What a terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Thank you. I was hoping that would have happened which is why I started it within my home field first.

My purpose again was for my people here not just within the Esteem thread but the entire AF forum. You interact with people on a daily sometimes hourly basis from which friends are made. Friends you will prolly NEVER see in your real life but will be there for you at the drop of a hat. I can honestly say that there are a few that I do sincerely care about on here and I will prolly never meet them.

Some people that dont get on that much might see that as foolish but being 29 years old I've found that honest people that care about you are hard to come by, even if they are online. :)

I think what happened was people started giving their politcal views on the matter & that is why it was moved over there. Absolutely agree, no one is divided on the lose of life.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense.

I'm an active grassroots campaigner, but stuff like this doesn't need to be made into political hay IMHO. I stand against those who have used this tragedy to further their own causes, and for the victims of this tragedy.

Someone on TV said we never remember the victims' names. Let's try:

AURORA TRAGEDY: List of theater shooting victims – Aurora Sentinel

I just wonder why this keeps happening. My heart and thoughts are with all the victims and their families. I live in Tucson, where Jared Loughner went on his deadly shooting rampage, where he wounded Rep. Gabby Giffords. It really is different when it happens in your own community. I guess we get desensitized from watching the horrible stuff on the news all the time. I think if we felt the full emotional impact of all the bad news that goes on around the world every day, a lot of us would not be able to function, so our brain desensitizes us from it, to protect us.
