Shortcuts on Android

So...I currently have Handcent installed, and would like to use it as my shortcut instead of the android default of Messaging.

That said, I'd like to continue to use the Messaging icon, AND the wording Messaging for the icon.

Can these be changed? Rename the shortcut, and change the icon of the shortcut?
