Root should i do it?

Rite so my upgrades here desire hd i own a rooted desire at present and love it was plannin on just ebayin dhd. Should i keep it and hows the rooting scene in dhd is it as easy to root as a desire and are ther as many roms? Its a tmobile dhd dont no if this makes any difference
