Root Should I flash S-OFF Wimax Radios

Ok this is really weird, or the virgin mobile 4G coverage map isn't accurate. At my house it said there is 4g service, but whenever I turn it on, there's no 4G whatsoever. I get 0-2 bars on the .530 radio with 3g, but I have wifi so it doesn't really matter.

Should I flash a wimax radio so it can correct the problem? :confused:
It would be nice to fill up some 4G gaps around my city. (Jacksonville, FL)

I'm s-off with the 1.04 radio btw

dial ##3282# in your dialer ( this only works on sense based roms) it will ask you for you msl code, if you do not know this download msl reader from the play store and you should be able to retrieve it from there, enter you msl in the text box and hit edit mode, now go to the WiMAX section and look for WiMAX_Entry_RX (RSSI)(dBm), it is -89 default i believe, click on i change it to -109.

And I think it might have sometimg to do with clearwire's coverage area. I had clear and it was absolute crap for a computer, but nice for our evo's :D. It doesn't make sense, why could I get 4g then, but not now? Hmmmm something is fishy...:hmmmm2:

Will this also work on Mobster Rom? It's sense based but some of the sense is removed :p

Tried that and it doesn't work. ##3282# does nothing. It doesn't bring up any menu.

Hey mobz how would I go about using the htcdialerapk on your rom? I've already set the aosp dialer as default and don't see an option under app settings to clear defaults for that. I'd like to try this but I'm not interested in reflashing your rom.

Its not in the Rom so im not sure what would it'll do after its pushed to the system/app folder since i haven't tried it but if you do it you might just have 2 Phone apps
 
Hmm. I guess I'll just skip out on trying it. Sounds like it would be more trouble than what its worth. I work at a school and there is literally a perfect outline of a dead zone that encompasses the school and nothing else in clear's coverage map. I step outside of the gate and I have 4g. I step in I don't. I'll wait and see if anyone else tries it. Either way thanks for the quick response.

lol i've been there I used to get zero bars in certain areas of my School

Just tried this after reading about it somewhere else earlier. I'm the opposite of you, I get 4g at home but not on the road. Will report back if I pick up a signal around town
 
Well this is sort of funny, my 4G immediately dies once I go to my neighborhood lol :D. Is there any way to boost 3g? :confused:

doesnt it suck when you drive by a place that gives your phone 100% 4G coverage and your speed test shows 10-13MB/s and your like. damn. i wish I lived here.

ahahaha

at my house I get zero 4G but at my cousins house just two streets over I get full signal at 10 plus megabit speeds!

thats saying something becuase the wifi I connect to at my own house is only 2.5 megabit and shared by multiple computers on netflix all the time
