Should I get an Optimus S?

Only need for talk & text. Won't use much. New to smartphones.

Should it matter to me that it's no longer supported by the latest android firmware?

If that is really all you are gonna' use it for, it'll be OK. But if you wan't to use Facebook, or something like that, the internal memory is too small. It barely has enough to hole the Android OS, so if an app wont move to the sd card, it won't fit.

Ended up getting a Samsung Transform Ultra for about the price of an Optimus S or cheaper. Took a long time research though, and was very lucky to find it.
