I really want to get the G Nexus but the battery life is a legit concern.
If I were to leave it on 3g all day and use juice defender how many hours of battery life would I be able to get with moderate use?
3g/4g should be strong where I live.
My operations would include texting, streaming music, some web browsing, couple phone calls, etc.
Would I be able to get 10-12 hours you think?
I'm just skeptical because I've heard so many users saying there battery dies in about 5-6 hours on this phone.
At 70% screen brightness
15 minutes equals a ~7% drop = ~28%/hr or less than 4hrs of screen time available.
At 30% screen brightness
15 minutes equals a ~5% drop = ~20%/hr or approx. 5hrs of screen time available.
At 10% screen brightness
15 minutes equals a ~4% drop = ~16%/hr or just over 6hrs of screen time available
As far as VZW "bloat" on the Nexus, its annoying but not so bad. First of all, you can disable both of them. Second of all, I actually find the My Verizon app to be useful. Then, I recently read this editorial that at least made me less annoyed by it and sort-of understand it from VZW's perspective. Basically, it said that VZW requires these apps for 2 reasons... one to cut down tech support questions and two, for "data usage transparency". VZ Backup assistant means less calls and store visits for people who change phones and can't figure out how to deal with moving contacts (as simple as it is, people really are dumb). My Verizon is their way of giving customers a way to track their data use in the new world of tiered plans. I think its probably smart business by VZW to put this app in the customers' faces so that they aren't faced with lawsuits down the line that people were getting charged overages without knowing they were going over. Also, it apparently allows VZW customers who purchased things previously through Vcast to be able to access their stuff.
So, in the end, I don't like it, but I understand it....and I am glad I have the option to turn them off.
