Should I get this phone?

So, I have the Ascend now, but I am highly thinking about getting the Optimus M because it seems like an all around better phone. I have official 2.2 on the ascend, but it's still slower than an optimus and the no multitouch kills me in texting sumtimes. Should I get the Optimus M for 99 and ditch the ascend?

You should. My friend has the Ascend and its rediculously slow and he doesn't even do anything major. The Optimus is much better. Not to mention that you can do so many things with it. Its a very versatile phone.

That's my main reason for wanting to get it. But, I'm kinda shifty because I dont wanna dish the 100 dollars for a small increase in RAM. I hate the fact that I have to install a bunch of ROMs and stuff on the ascend and purchase an adapter for headphones and it still isn't on par with the Optimus.

That's just because the optimus is awesome haha. Can't stay on par with awesomeness.

I used the phone for over a year, had no problems with it, Only thing i did not like was that dial up speed, I had to move away from metro, my reception was crap anywhere i was in my city and i am in dallas fort worth area, I dropped calls constantly no matter where i was, I switched to sprint and have not dropped one call on the evo 4g since i bought the phone.

Interesting, I'm in the northern/north eastern suburbs of Dallas (Irving, Richardson, Plano, Garland, Mesquite, etc (my job has me doing a lot of traveling) and even down town Dallas) and I always have good reception. I can count on one hand how many dropped calls I've had. I even get good reception inside the data centers that I go into for my job.
