Should I have got earphones with my S2?

Ringside

Hello all,

Okay I managed to get an S2 today from Walmart ($98 and a $100 giftcard in return.

My question is should I have got earbuds with the phone? Because I didn't and I thought I remembered reading that it comes with a pair.

I got the phone, some documents, battery, plug and USB cable only.

Thanks!

My att branded phone came in the att s2 box and i got a phone battery ac charger and cable. that was it other than some paper for quickstart and stuff.

I bought mine last month and didn't have any. Wondering if that might have been an ATT vs. International version thing.

Ringside, you were reading or watching the i9100 (international) version of the Galaxy S2 being unboxed.... The US AT&T version is BARE bones, battery, charger, and usb cable for hardware, no headphones! :(

International version even got a small leather slip case/pouch...

I just read something about this last week....and it is speculated that to keep cost down on this particular phone all the extras were removed head phones, usb/hdmi converter, etc. Apparently this phone was going to be a bit more expensive even on contract and Samsung wasnt GIVING anything away with it. I will look for the link.

Yeah I saw the international unboxing. Looks like a very classy package compared to AT&T's!

However my main reason for wanting the buds was for recording live music. Obviously the volume created huge distortion but it seems recording through the microphone that comes with the supplied buds helps a lot according to reports and videos posted on another forum I've been keeping an eye on. The results were surprisingly good.

So now I'm wondering what the best option is for recording live music with minimum distortion. Hmm.

I cant remember where the hell I was reading that damn article.....Its killing me...but hey I am just glad I got the phone......I stalked this phone for months and when AT&T took this version I couldnt have been happier. This phone is STILL king of the hill.

Well, yes...you should have received earphones...and a case, and maybe some more stuff. But this #$%ers don't even provide a damn CD any more. I suspect that in a couple of years we'll pick up the phone on the loose from a big pile even without a box. Not only they save money on the CD, the no-earphones-and-case, and as a result on the production of a much smaller box, they even managed to cripple the beauty of the Galaxy S2 (AKA the International Version) and give us their "American Version Special" with the home button missing from bottom.
