Help Should I remove Kies?

I've rooted my SGS2 and after a lot of help from Ironass on here it now seems fine.

I have 4.0.4 and am happy to know that I can upgrade to later versions using Odin.

Shall I delete Kies or is it better to keep it updated? I'm assuming that keeping Kies up-to-date will mean that I'll always have the latest phone drivers?

Does this matter? Am I talking rubbish?

Must go now, matron's coming with my meds!

Keep Kies and make sure you update it regularly for the very reason you mentioned... the drivers.

I must say, in defence of Kies, I've never had a problem with it. Having said that, I use Odin for my updates! ;)

Thanks. But I thought that Kies doesn't work with a rooted phone? Or is it that it's simply not wise to use Kies to install upgrades?

Can I still use it to see if updates are available for example, but not actually use Kies to install them. I've learned to my cost that doing that buggers up my rooting!

Kies was fine with me as well until I rooted.

Kies will not show or give you updates on rooted or custom ROM phones. However, the drivers are needed for Odin.
