Accessories Should i return seidio 3500 mah battery?

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the seidio 3500mah and had great expectations for the battery. I've followed the charging instructions to leave the battery in 2-3 hours past the green light. However, the battery life doesnt seem to stand up to par with a lot of the reviews i've read. My battery lasts about 25-28 hours on moderate light use including standby times when i'm asleep. Moderate use includes 30% backlight, 2 hours of pandora, internet browsing, 3g, texting, 1hr of talk time, and playing some games on apps. My htc is rooted and i have advanced task killer along with setcpu.

Today i left my phone on with 100% backlight and 4g, wifi, 3g, gps on all day, as well as pandora on max volume for 6 hours and the battery lasted 10 hours. I've read a lot of reviews where this battery lasted for 2 days+ on heavy use. Is this the normal time the battery should last? or did i just get a bad battery? should i return it?

Hello sholee.

Your over 24 hour battery life sounds great to me, even with just light use.

These Android devices are real resource hogs, at the battery trough all day with running services in the background, syncing, etc. Not to mention the display. ;)

Also, it takes about half a dozen or more charging cycles for a battery, any rechargeable battery, to live up to its potential; they get better with use and tend to remain that way for well over a year.

Users tend to want instant gratification with these things, and often think something is wrong with the battery they just bought and put in their device, when nothing is wrong aside from the battery and device not yet calibrated to one another, etc.

Sounds like you don't close out of your apps properly and you have apps set to constantly send/receive data. When you leave your house do you cut out the lights? Well, if you do then why leave stuff running on your phone if you are not using certain apps and radios (3G,4G,GPS,Wifi)? Leaving on Wifi and GPS does not drain the battery at all unless you have apps sending and receiving data on wifi or updating your position via GPS. I could go more into detail but this topic has been discussed a lot already.
