I don't know if I should root my phone, I hear some people on youtube saying don't root, not need, " both I like to freeze apps, "like the apps I download, that re start up by its own" they say the root that is out now ,ain't even for the Lg Motion..that wit will mess up your phone...

Has anyone had problems rooting it, and after rooting it?

I haven't had really problems with the phone, only one thing happen..it rebooted by it's self out of nowhere, only one time so far "and my phone not rooted"

Oh... do you think there will be a real root for only the LG Motion? "like OneClickRoot"

thank you

not alot of current root support for your phone. id wait a bit and see what pops up - if anything convince one of the dev's to make a port. someone i know has a bricked motion im gonna grab and mess with a bit.

there already is a real root for this phone. root doesnt mess up the phone people who get ahead of themselves brick thier phones. the root here is fine ive been rooted since root came out and its great. to each is own though.

ok, so you got root.... which rom are you running - cause AFAIK theres not many custom roms for the device yet... (which is one of the [PRIMARY] reasons to root to begin with)

Lets calm down!!!! You can do alot more when your phone is rooted, just cuz your rooted dont mean you have to put a custom rom on your device, some people just like to root to remove or freeze bloatware on device. :-)

Well theres already a unbrick method for this device:)

what the hell does rooting have to do with roms your talkin about 2 different things. your asking if theres root for the phone and there is

can you read?

[edit: that sounded harsh however...he asked for an opinion and i gave one. Why am i getting flamed for that?]

[super late uber important edit: i wish i could give you two thumbs down...:afraid:]

Im more calm than a stagnant pond in a cave - that being said; the majority of people who decide to root, do so because they are bored with their phone. After that, you know the rest. FACT- there isnt as much dev support for this phone as there are for other devices. He asked for an opinion on whether he/she should root and i would say no. (for the aforementioned reason.) until there are more people involved, and customized versions of software start coming out i wouldnt bother.

Well said :-)

as i said though, im about to buy a "bricked" one for cheap. I do dev work on phones i own, so i will definitely be running through this phone with a fine toothed comb.

Thats cool its real easy to unbrick them.

of course i can read silly rabbit the dudes saying theres no root for this phone when there is and rooting with the method here is fine it doesnt screw up the phone. roms however are not available your asking me what rom do i have when the dude is asking about rooting.

How about we just go nice and easy in here, with respect? :)

earlymon good to see ya. no hostility here - just trying to convey an OPINION which was asked for by OP. ive already extrapolated on my original post.

as for you.... there is a root for the phone. (anyone with internet access can confirm.) no-one is contesting this fact <--- redundant!

did you not read the whole thread? what once started as helpful has disintegrated into bickering and the entire point is almost lost.

Rooting is mandatory for me as I cannot stand ads. I'm okay with stock ROMs since I always use a third-party launcher anyway, for a better look and more options. It's also nice to have root access to change things like the boot animation, to install apps as system apps, and to save APKs.
