Help Should I take "it" back?

As many of you know, the Optimus M (any Optimus series for that matter) is prone to freezing, then promptly rebooting. Kinda annoying. I know. But, ..

Is it worth taking back to the store for a refurbished phone, or possibly an exchange? Who's on their phone EVERY second of the day that it would becoming such a bother (the second part of this is a rhetorical question, don't bother answering)?

Do you think the eventual Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update will sweep the problem under the rug?

Is it bad that my phone can freeze up to 4-5 times a day, or is it normal for the Optimus community?

So, what do YOU think? Should I take it [the phone] back? I have 'til Wednesday to get a full refund or an exchange/refurb. Even past then, I can get an exchange for a refurbished phone within the 30-day return period; sadly they won't give you a brand new phone after the 7-day grace period.

I, honestly, haven't had that many problems with mine, or my wife's Optimus M. Occasionally (I'm talking only 4 or 5 times since we got the phones Feb 25th) it has frozen and I couldn't unlock the screen (it'd just stay black). I've never had an auto reboot. It could just be the phone you got.

I did some research and a lot of people are having the same issue, though. Who knows exactly what it is, but I hope the Gingerbread update will fix the freezing and constant rebooting. So far today, it's only rebooted once or twice. Miraculously.

If you just got it, take it back. There is a known issue that seems software related and solely with the 2.2.1 models. If you have to take it back multiple times, do so until you get a properly functioning one. Only if they give you a hard time about it should you keep it and root it to replace the ROM.

That we won't know until it gets here. If the issue is software, then it probably would. However if there's an underlying hardware problem, it won't help at all.
