Should i upgrade to jellybean

joysleep

Newbie
I am new to this thread so i am sorry if this question has been posted

I currently have a samsung galaxy s3 and i have just received an update asking me to upgrade to 4.1. To be honest, ICS software works perfectly on my phone and there seems to be no problems on my phone. I just want to know if its worth upgrading. Are there any special features that jellybean software has that is significantly better than ICS. Also i heard that JB has no flash support and so if i upgrade, will i lose this feature.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Definitely. Project Butter is great. Google Now is good. Lack of Flash isnt so bad. If you desperately need it you can always download the .apk

I'm just curious. Where do you live that you are getting the 4.1 update?

What do you mean? i live in South West London.
So can you install Flash when you are on jellybean without having to root the phone?

And what is project butter anyway?

Thanks

It could have a CSC from another country. If the device was purchased or originated elsewhere, this would happen. Or he is the first to get the update...

Actually, nothing supports Flash anymore. It has been removed from the market. However, that does not mean that Flash cannot be found, downloaded, and installed. It works fine on JB

BTW, one thing that I don't like about JB is how you choose apps for file types. For example, let's say you select a link to a website when you have multiple browsers installed.

In ICS, you get a pop-up, select the browser you want to use, and the browser launches. If you want to always use that browser, you can check a box and then select the one you always want to use.

In JB, you get a pop-up, select the browser you want to use, and then have to select if you want to always use that browser or just use it this time. If you don't want to always use that browser, you have to make two selections instead of one each time.

Personally, I like to choose browsers each time because they render sites differently and sometimes I want to switch browsers to get the best rendering. It's a small annoyance, but I think it's a step backwards.

Flash is still in the market, I think they re- added it
