Should I Upgrade?

My biggest issue with all 4G Metro phones is abysmal battery life. I hope new phones will have a better battery life.

He said he only really browsed the web. How could pixel density be the same when the.connectbhas a smaller screen? Yet they both have a 480x800 res?

You're right, I was thinking resolution.... though the connect has a sharper, brighter screen....

I think the only thing that holds me back from a sure yes is the overheating and battery issues I've been reading about. I really don't want to suffer through bulky case and like the slimmer phone - especially coming off the Indulge. About the only time I use HDMI is with my laptop so not a big concern for me. I guess I'm really leaning Connect, just want to hear more about the above issues.

Thanks for the speedy replies.
i agree battery life is bad on indulge but you could consider buying a bigger battery instead of paying 300 and up for those phones also indulge is only phone with keyboard

Connect suck ass. Battery is really poor. Esteem with custom roms and go as smooth as the connect. I would get an esteem if i were u. I regret mine.

Connect sucks so bad that even Amazon.com seems to be dumping its stock of LG connect. They have priced it for $279, $229 after mail-in rebate.

Sweet, spare, spare, spare phone.... (have esteem, connect, and attain 4g and a few 3g phones.... I'm an android whore)

No. Don't waste your money if your phone still fits your needs. Wait till the holiday season. By then, both Connect and Esteem will be history.

Personally I don't mind turning off 4g, I do on Indulge and with Metro speeds there is such little difference. I've thought about the battery issue and have read that people killing 4g get a better battery reception. The one thing I have worried about is the overheating which seems hit and miss. I've been looking and the only phone that was supposedly coming out is the One V, but there is nothing new on it nor any other phone developments.

My Indulge is starting to get kinda laggy. I'm getting locks ups almost every time I do something and the other day a photo uploaded 6 times to FB thanks to that. So I really am looking to upgrade.

I'm getting 1-2mbps download on 4g and when I'm on 3g I hardly see the difference. I'm in the Dallas market and 3g has taken it over lately.

Not through metro... you can flash yourself or have someone do it. I kean you can get any verizon or sprint phone on metro

If you want to do it yourself go on xda developers.... but i advise you to go on craigslist and searchetro flash. Many will come up.. there gunna charge like 60 bucks though. But you.will be on thw 40 dollar plan... i had the original htc touch flashed

Any further info? I've been reading and notice that overheating seems to be a issue for people that use this phone with heavy usage or heavy apps and I don't use it for that - although my habits could change with a better quality phone. I'm kinda leaning toward getting the Connect and take a risk. Sometimes I think battery issues are exaggerated :p although these companies need to learn how to support a phone with a good battery. I've been hearing great things about the phone and then some downsides. I've been reading XDA, but just checking if anyone here further info on flashing... I might change my mind.

I have read today on this forum that Samsung Galaxy S3 is coming to Metro in September or October.

I was reading that and started thinking about waiting. I checked the "pre-order" page -- Metro has been taken off so makes me wonder.
