Should I?

Thinking about getting an Xperia PLAY. I use phones pretty hard for internet and games mostly. I've had a captivate and been disappointed, an atrix and disappointed in reliability. I'm also considering the ATT Galaxy s2. Why is this one better or is it not?

Do research: If the galaxy s 2 supports a wireless gamepad (ps3 maybe) get it. PLAY is awesome, but the gs2 is way more powerful and will probably get ice cream sandwich first. It also depends on how much you can afford, since the PLAY is basically free and the gs2 is like $150.

I wouldn't say this phone is necessary for games. There are a lot of great touch games out there. However, if you use emulators there can be no other. I'm going to have a really hard time switching to any phone without these physical controls.

Aside from gaming there is also another major point to consider. The battery life of the xperia play is unrivaled compared to other android phones. You can easily get through a day without putting it on charge and have some juice left over for the next day. There is no way that the galaxy s2 could hope to compare with that. So for a heavy smartphone user, especially games, the xperia play is the hands down choice. This being my first smartphone I thought getting two days off the charger with average use was normal, but the average phone now needs charged every 7 hours or so and getting through a day is almost unheard of for phones like the thunderbolt and more than likely the galaxy s2.
