Root Should you root your Atrix?

Should you root your Atrix? Has anyone done it and does everything work ok after?

I can only tell you my opinion, which is just that - an opinion. My feelings on rooting are that if you want to root because you enjoy exploring the tweaks and customization options that rooting allows, then by all means go for it. If your rationale for rooting is that you think the Atrix needs to be rooted to perform well, then I strongly disagree.

I rooted mine with a Linux modification of the GladRoot process on xda-developers, and my Atrix works perfectly. I originally wanted root to enable side loading for software beta testing. However, I've since found root necessary to install and keep updated a custom hosts file that blocks ads, and also to delete the location tracking database. Those two things made the couple of hours flashing, updating, and reinstalling my apps well worth it. YMMV.
