Show notifications doesn't stick

I'm really puzzled here.

I have a Nexus 4 with 4.3, and I use Swipepad and Tasker on my phone, but I don't want to see the constant notification that sits in the shade.

So, I went into Settings > Apps and into the two apps in question, and unchecked "Show notifications." This stops the notifications from appearing.

However, every single time my phone reboots, the notifications come back. I then have to go into these apps, where they are still unchecked, re-check them, then check them again and accept the change.

I know I only have to do this when I restart my phone, but it's really annoying and clearly isn't working as intended or the box would be rechecked too.

Is there a way to fix this?

I use SwipePad and GloveBox, and I have these notifications too. I am interested if you can. I've gone through all the settings and have not found a way to turn them off. I've come to be used to though, hopefully someone else knows. Also, may I ask why you are running 2.3 or on your Nexus 4?

Oops! I don't know what I was thinking about when I wrote that! I've edited it to say 4.3.

But I think there's some confusion. It's absolutely possible to turn off those notifications currently. You just go to Settings > Apps > Swipepad (for example), and then tap the checkbox that says "Show notifications" (it's checked by default). It will confirm that you want to do that, and then you're set!

My problem is that if/when my phone resets, I get the notifications back, even though that checkbox is still unchecked.

Oh, yes sorry. I thought you could make the notifications transparent but I thought they still persisted. As for what you are asking, I am not sure about why that would happen. Maybe email the dev, sorry I couldn't help.

No problem, thanks for the reply. I don't think it has anything to do with the developers, because it's happening with two separate apps from different developers. I think it's an Android issue.

Is there another forum to post this in? I posted in the Nexus 4 forum because that's the phone I have. I didn't see a general Android forum...
