My God, that is just stunning!

That super engineer steel bracelet is dapper. And may I say likewise that your grand carrera watch face is the bomb!

I have a real grand carrera with the white dial, but your black dial watch face is killer, man!

Now I know which steel bracelet to buy for my incoming Moto 360.

I swap between this one and the Citizen Nighthawk in his collection. The Nighthawk is very busy looking on the flat face of the Moto360, but it fits better when out on the football field, etc. The Calbre is the office and going out one. Looks better in person than in the pictures. All of his use Facer.

I had originally put the Pebble Steel silver band on it and was highly disappointed. Just had no meat to it. I'm coming off a Citizen Promaster Racing Watch, with a 179g band, so both the original leather and the Pebble Steel bands felt girly - and that's no offense to anyone using them, but it was like driving a dump truck for years and then driving Geo Metro. Just wasn't the same. the Steel band was too thin and felt flimsy for my tastes.

Would you mind taking a picture of the back of the phone where the band connects to the watch face? Looks great, btw.
 
My Moto is incoming. Just an opinion, I use leather conditioner on all my leather goods, shoes, bags, belts, car seats. I'm planning to occasionally apply it as well on the leather band of the Moto when I finally get it.. The conditioner helps keep leather pliant and clean. Helps prevent brittling as well in dry weather.

I was planning to look at the pebble steel bracelet as well, but I noticed the folded links. Folded links = flimsy feel, so no go for me. The super engineer steel bracelet you got looks like they're solid steel links? Looks really good, man!

Does using the custom dials and facer negatively impact battery life? I've read some feedback that sticking to the default Moto watch faces was the wiser thing to do at this time until Motorola releases the APK for custom dial designing. What's your experience so far with the custom disks and facer?
 
Yes, the Super Engineer is solid stainless links. Very heavy (which I like, admittedly some do not). Not as heavy as my Citizen band, but closest I could find that works.

Be sure if you order, you go with the 20MM, not the 22MM. There is a hair of play on either side of the 20MM, but the 22MM will not allow you to release the springs.

So not to bag the watch at all, but battery life is inconsistent at best. Not even sure what causes the fluctuations. Some mornings I take it off the stand at 7:00AM, and am at like 76% by 9:00AM. Other days, like yesterday, I was at 82% at 1:00PM. It seems random. I'm sure there is something I am doing that is exaggerating the fluctuations, but nothing that is completely obvious.

As far as Face and the aftermarket faces - I have noticed no tangible difference in the battery life due to the Facer images on it. I don't have any proof that it causes any difference. Some of my worst battery life scenarios were with the stock Moto faces, but again, no proof that it was the actual faces or something else I was doing.

I have noticed one thing: On days where I have football practice (I coach), and my heart activity and step activity is far higher, the battery is depleted MUCH faster. Unsure if it has to do with the sensors or the rate at which they are keeping up, but there have been times when I have been fully charged going into practice, and two hours later it is at <50%. On evenings when I'm game planning while sitting at a desk, the depletion rate is much slower...
 
Thanks for the tip regarding the 20 vs 22 mm. Good thing you mentioned that because I would've ordered the 22mm.

From your post about your level of activity somehow affecting battery depletion, that seems plausible. From what I've read far, there seems to be no option to deactivate the step counter. I hope Motorola gives that option in a future update, as I've no plans on using that feature. They really make that a user selectable option.
 
I did have to cut the two small plastic ridges inside the watch to make these fit. I totally forgot to mention that. It is not hard, and causes no damage to the watch. But you will need a skinny little blade or solid little flat bladed screwdriver to get them out. I had a 3MM Xacto blade I used - just cut the bottom of it and it pop right out.

Yeah, I took a picture of them earlier in the thread. They can probably be trimmed using wire cutters too. Only thing I wonder about, now, is if they might actually add to rigidity/support for the plastic backing. I was reading Android Central and saw a mention of cracking of the back plate, but I don't know if that was due to the metal bands people were choosing or clipping the plastic ridges.
 
Ya know, I honestly thought about a very small amount of leather conditioner, but thought I was crazy. Conditioner has kept my leather going boots gorgeous since 97, I can't see why a dot wouldn't help here too. Great idea, thanks.
 
They definitely do not add support to the actual back plate. And the plastic underneath is vacuum formed and molded so I'm unsure those tiny ridges add much. See the pic below from iFixIt showing inside the back.

Thanks. I looked at the Android Central thread and found they were referring to the pebble band causing chipping on the outside of the cutout.

I suspected that it wasn't support and merely a way for Motorola to sell proprietary bands, so I won't be weary of clipping those things at all. This is great info, for those that enjoy DIY projects.
 
Just wanted to add a thanks to everyone in this post. Lots of good info and links to watch faces. I'm expecting my 360 to arrive tomorrow. Pretty bummed though because according to the tracking in arrived in my city yesterday on Sunday but isn't on a truck for delivery today. Was hoping to get it a day early. :(
 
It really is. The small hands don't do anything, and I don't care! LOL.

I looked that up on eBay. They go for over $4k.
 
Okay, can I be the loser to ask how I get that face on my watch? I know I need to have Facer installed. I know I need to DL the face itself. But then how to I get the DLed face to the Facer folder/app?

I'm a big fan of ES File Explorer, but any "My Computer" type program will work. When you first get it, it will be in your Download folder. I copy the ZIP into the Facer folder. Then unzip it there.

So, I shouldn't be DL it from the phone? I should do it on a Computer, then work the magic there? I tried messing with it from the phone itself, but couldn't find a way to drag the file from the Download area to Facer.

Okay, after seeing this, I'm determined to sit down with Facer and make the watchface I've been really wanting to make.

This looks really nice and I think I have a better idea on how to create a face, after seeing the breakdown.

BTW, for those that want to download this watchface, you don't need to use ES File Explorer. Any File Explorer app will work, but when you un-zip the file, just be sure that you don't have duplicate titles of the parent folder (e.g. Breitling Bentley Folder), otherwise the face won't show up in Facer.

Glad there's one breakdown that'll help me create the watchface how I've wanted to do it.
