Help Showing new texts when I don't have any

My stock texting program is showing that I have 2 new text messages, when I don't. It also, along with Handcent, show that I have one message, and when I open it, it is for the same recipient, but an empty text (it shows up in the notifications panel). Is there a way to clear/reset this, or do a "mark all as read"?

You should have your notifications for the stock app turned off if you're using Handcent. As far as the empty text goes, are you the sender or the receipt? If you're the sender make sure you didn't accidentally leave a space when you started a message. If all else fails you can "delete entire thread" in Handcent for that contact & it should get rid of it. I'm just making a few suggestions here, hoping one of them will fix your problem.
There is a "mark all read" option in Handcent. If you're in your conversation list & hit your menu button the option will be on the right side of the menu.

The new empty message is not coming up anymore. I want to say that I am the sender. I uninstalled Handcent. In the stock messaging app, it still says two. Usually when there are new messages, there will be a number next to the thread. There are not any numbers next to any thread listed.

Have you tried clearing the cache for the stock messaging app? (settings; more; application manager; all; messaging)

Tried this, and it still does not go away.

instead of just clearing the cache, try doing the data and see if it goes away.

you might have to re input the app's logon info etc, but that should fix it!

You'll lose the messages but small price to pay..

You could use "my backup pro" from google play to save the mms/sms messages if you need to keep your messages and restore them after you fix the problem

There is a free one too...

Aloha and Good Luck!

I backed my texts up, cleared the data, and force stopped it. it still showed i have 2 new texts. I rebooted, and told me that I have 2 new texts. I opened it in the notifications window, and it came to a completely empty compose new text screen. Just maybe have to do a factory reset, or could it be the network?
