Help Shut down issue

IF i want to turn the phone off it will go to shutting down and continue to do this for hours the only way to sort this is to remove the battery, is there a fix or is anyone else having this problem ? this hard core shut down cannot be doing the phone any good. please help

i press power+down volume+optical button, when it gets stuck - saves having to take the back off

i'm having the same problem m8. unmounted the sd card a couple of days ago then shut down and it worked but i tried that again today and ended up having to flick the bat out again like you. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Same here. Sometimes I just want to turn the phone off to save the battery, but it takes ages and I get frustrated so I take the battery out.

Just put it in airplane mode, it will use minimal or no battery in many hours.

I find using advanced task killer just before shutting down to end most of the apps really helps. I don't use it at any other time.
