Root shutdown issue

Hi, I successfully was able to root 2.3.4 and delete the bloatware. I was also able to delete the startup animations and the dreaded hello hello (mine was a wave file in the etc directory). However, I also deleted /system/media/video/shutdown. Mistake - now the phone cannot be shutdown by selecting the option to when holding the power button. It still animates the shutting down circle icon, but doesn't advance. The battery has to be pulled. I tried creating another shutdown folder and changing the permissions to the same as the parent, but to no avail. Do I need to put the .png files back named exactly the same way they were before? I didn't back them up nor do I remember the names and how many there were. If this is the case, is there a way to make the phone not look for these files and just shutdown with no animation? If there is currently no way to change it, could someone post the /shutdown folder or whatever files are needed to enable the option? Thanks.

I zipped the folder shutdown, and made it an attachment.

What was the name of the file you removed to get rid of the opening splash? What visual happens when the opening flash is gone.

Thanks for the folder gelige. I will try it when I have access to the phone again. The files which I deleted for the intro animation were qml files - there were two. I believe they were in the parent structure of the /shutdown folder somewhere. Since I deleted them already, I'm sorry that I can't tell you exactly where or what they were named - it was something Samsung or related to the name of the phone I remember. The phone boots fine with the animation gone - it just shows a black screen for about 10 seconds.

I am new to the thread and android and I am having the exact same problem. I rooted my phone last night and deleted exactly the same items on my quest to rid the phone of crap thinking it wasn't a big deal. I downloaded the shutdown zip file and copy and pasted them where they should go and still have no luck. The phone will not shut down. Can anyone help?
