Help shutdown on games

[samsung galaxy s2, did not change any components, bought it about 2 years ago]

this problem occurred recently.
if i set the phone on standby without playing games, its ok for several days, without recharging.

BUT it seems i can only play games while the phone is recharging. after the recharge cable is disconnected, the phone shuts down after several minutes.

also this is strange: when the phone shuts down, IF immediately the phone is switched back on, the battery indication displays very very low battery energy, BUT if i switch back the phone after +- 10 min, the battery indication displays about 70%.

it is with any game. probably applications that use much battery power. because simple text apps dont have this problem it seems, i used those for about 1 hr without any problems. also, i used to be able to play games for hours perfectly, this problem only occurred recently.

i also noticed that the battery energy indicator might be wrong sometimes, such as 100% after several days on stand by.

Three things that you can try...

1. Recalibrate your battery as follows... The Best Way to Calibrate our S2 Battery. Initially it will show some weird readings until it settles down after av few hours. Allow a couple of charge and discharge cycles after doing this.

2. Check your battery to see that it is good. Lay the battery on a flat surface and attempt to spin it. If it spins easily on one or both sides, then it is bulging and will need replacing.

3. Carefully inspect your USB port for any dirt or dust and also look for any damage to the connector. You can, very carefully, with a soft toothbrush, clean the port.

Hope that helps.

this seems to be the problem.

i could try replacing the battery, which is suitable for samsung galaxy s2? is any s2 compatible battery ok or could some batteries cause issues?

i have seen a s2 compatible 2450mAh battery for sale but not sure if it can cause issues.

how about batteries that say "replacement for .." ?

another question, is it bad for the battery if i keep it in the charger, even when it is already 100% charged?
