Root SIAP - HBoot question

I am on hboot 2.1

I tried to flas some jelly bean/ice cream roms (cm9 papa smurf and black ice kangorade40.5) usine aroma recovery.

The phone just bootloops on the white intro screen.

Do I need to update the hboot or something else to install these?

NOOOOOO!!!!
do not mess with hboots. the only way really is to accept an ota which you should never do anyways now that you are rooted. i have hboot 2.1 and i can flash anything i want. hboot is not your ur issue.

sounds like you did not wipe properly. what did you wipe before flashing the rom? you should wipe everything but the sd card. what rom did you try to flash?

Aroma is an installer, not a recovery.

I would start by finding out what your recovery is. If it's clockworkmod change to amon ra.

Then make sure your doing a full wipe before flashing. Wipe boot, system, cache, dalvik cache, data, sd-ext and sd-android secure

Then Flash your rom. Then flash gapps

just cache, dalvik and all userdata/factory reset. did each 3 times. these are the only 3 wipes i ever do brfore installing roms. i guess i have been doing it wrong.

cm9 papa smurf and black ice kangorade40.5 roms. i did get CyanogenMod 10 running fine though.

sorry about that. my recovery is RA Supersonic v2.3

i guess i have never been doing a complete wipe. maybe that is why i was having troble with different roms after a while.

when i wipe sd-ext does that mean the sd card needs partitioned?

i would wipe everything but the sd card. you can skip sd ext as well unless your are partitioned. if you are not partitioned then there is no need to wipe it.

try doing a full wipe and re-flash the rom.

Could be a bad download too. You may have to redownload the rom and then wipe and flash again.

EDIT: With the Black Ice ROM, I believe you have to partition the SD Card. I also tried to flash it without partitioning and it bootlooped at the white screen
