Help Side load Go Launcher EX

What is the general success rate for putting Go Launcher on the Fire?

I've read that it's pretty easy but have this nagging fear that I'm going to brick my Fire.

Anyone had any problems? What kind and how did you recover from it?

Or is it really just that easy?

I've been using Go Launcher for months on the Fire with no problem. I like it especially because I can group my apps into folders (Music, Games, Utilities, etc.).

Yeah! I thought I was the only -one that this happened to.. and its not go launcher I think its a corrupted file ( I downloaded my file from 4shared- NEVER AGAIN!) Now before anyone thinks its not true; I'm on my kindle fire "NUMBER 6". The only thing that saved me financially was Amazons 2 year insurance plan.
DX Top & ADW work Great! BUT REMEMBER: GET THE APPS FROM THE COMPANY FIRST - then sideload..IT's much safer...!

Anyone using GO Launcher have apps which don't show their icon image and instead show a default image of a silver square with gray squares inside. I have a few apps like this.. such as.. iheartradio, four in a row free, and guess the code. Try to install one of these from the Amazon Market and see if you experience the same. I'm wondering if its just me and if there is any way I can fix it.

I have Go Launcher on the KF (which rocks!) and also iHeartRadio. I don't see an icon like you describe. I get the regular iHeartRadio icon (which also rocks!).

I finally got around to installing Go Launcher and for the most part it works, with one huge exception.

Opening the Kindle reader will only allow me to see the book I last had open, I can't seem to select any other media.

Anyone seen that before?

Yep. Expected. You have to open/select the book in the standard Kindle interface. Then go back to Go Launcher. Neall

Yeah; and I've also noticed that the Kindle app sometimes won't open from its icon on Go Launcher. I put an icon for the stock launcher on my Go Launcher Home screen; I use that to go back to the stock interface to launch the Kindle app. It's a bit of a pita, but it's worth it to be able to use Go for everything else outside of the Kindle app.

Been using it since Christmas day. Only problem is I cant seem to keep a custom background to stay as a wallpaper.

You need to sideload the "Kindle Fire - Wallpaper Changer" app. It's available in the Google Play store.

Rooting your device give you easy access to GoLauncher. If you root using the kindle fire utility, you can load it straight from the extras on the program. Ive gotten alot more use out of the device since it was freed from amazons grasp.
