Root Signal dies when switching to AOKP

Anybody else have this problem? Been trying to flash Paranoid and Evervolv and been getting a dead signal; can't text or anything. I always make a nandroid (Power Rom) and have to reset (##25327#) because signal is still dead when restoring. I guess what I'm asking is, anybody else have a problem with this/like this? Anybody got suggestions on how to fix this?

Which HBoot are you using?
I had the same problem and all I had to do was flash the HBoot in this thread:

I'm on 1.04.2000. I haven't had any problems with it in the past, so I'm not sure what the deal is now

Did you do a clean install? Make sure you also install the radio, and pri from the fix everything thread; and the prl wouldn't hurt.

check your signal strength by dbm and see if there is a difference there. checking by bars is pretty inaccurate

I tried, signal still died i always clean install though lol
