Signal has gone to crap!

I bought my Evo on launch day, I've been running Fresh ROM with the newest radio for about a week now. I have NEVER had a problem with reception, nor dropped a call since I've had the device.

Beginning last night when I came home, I have ZERO signal in my house or around my neighborhood! It's like I'm in a Sprint black hole. It doesn't come and go, I simply have had ZERO network communication for a day and a half. When I leave my neighborhood, I get my usual blistering 3 and 4g speeds.

I updated the PRL and looked through some of the other settings... Nothing major has changed on the phone in the last day. Any ideas what could have happened?

My guess? Sprint is doing some work. They did work in NC a few days ago and had a couple of days of bad service.

Okay, I did a hard reset with the Fresh Rom still on the phone. I made a phone call to my wife during the initial boot after the reset, and got through. Once the phone COMPLETED booting and ran at normal speed, I had no network like before.

I then flashed back to the STOCK ROM. No root, no Fresh, factory everything. Same deal, I could make a call during the initial boot, but once it completes booting my network connection is non-functioning.

Most likely it's a cheap communications chip used by HTC.

sounds like a cell site outage. A few weeks ago a site near my office had it's hardlines between the cabinet and the monopole removed by vandals, or it could be something a little simpler, like a bad T1, or a microwave outage. open a ticket with sprint:)
