Signal interference or what?

I use my car's bluetooth for phone calls and music. The data stream for the music seems to be stronger than my Gen 1 Commando. In probably 15 hours of listening have only been dropped once.

The phone however is another story. When I place a call using the car's buttons the voice prompt tells me "phone signa strength is low" and there's distortion and an annoying thumping in my speakers. Talking on the phone with BT disconnected is no problem. So I'm assuming it's the BT connection.

What could cause the interference?

Nobody?

I've looked around on the Mazda forums and can't find anything. I'll try re-Pairing and see if that helps.

My vehicle is pre-bluetooth, so I use a cassette tape adapter and I often get a high pitched roar when connected to LTE. I don't hear this on EVDO so maybe that has something to do with it?
