Help Signal loss when hooked to PC through USB???

Lurker
When I hook up my DINC to my shop computer, the phone signal goes away completely and the internet or apps cant find signal either. My droid 2 never did this. Once I pull the cord off the phone, the signal is right back and internet/apps work fine. This is on a windows xp system.

At home, if I plug the phone into my windows vista home pc, the whole computer crashes. Blue screen, and memory dump then a restart.

IDK why this phone is doing this, should have kept my droid 2. ERRR..... any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there a technical support phone line for the Droid Incredible?

not sure about the signal loss issue because it doesn't really make sense unless the computer you are plugging into is outputting some type of radio interference or you might have usb tethering turned on.
The problem you are having with your home computer crashing is most likely a driver conflict(because you have droid2 drivers on there still most likely), it's not the incredible's fault, that's vista's problem. You best course of action to fix that is to uninstall all of the usb storage drivers you can find on your computer. Or you can go into the system dump file on your computer and locate the exact file that is causing the crash or at least get the "stop code" and do a google search of it to help lead you in the right direction.

Ok, at home I unistalled pdanet, and verizon manager app and it still crashed the pc. Even tried pulling the sd card but no change. I found it somehow clashed with DVD43- a program I have on my pc. I saw the name DVD43 on the blue screen before meltdown. I turned that off and now it no longer crashes the computer. Also, my pdanet does not work with the disk drive on the Incredible set to Mobile Broadband Connect. It must be in the Disk drive connection type. Hope this helps someone!

Gotta go to shop computer now and see if I change the connection type on the phone to disc drive and hopefully it will let me use PDANET. Fingers crossed.
