was hanging out at santa monica this evening and had decent LTE reception. tomorrow ill get to check things out in Hollywood and see how its comparing to the htc one's reception.

I was at work today in Flint, Michigan and inside a metal factory I was getting LTE Spark for speedtest speeds of 3-7 Mbps.
Here's a pic I took from inside there, you would think with all this metal it would stop the 4G, but not with this phone.
have you gotten 4g lte before in here?
Not sure if this has anything to do with kit Kat which I updated to last week but my GPS signal is awful on my max and fails to stay locked on. Just been away for a few nights so was very reliant on GPS to find my way around and it was pretty much useless. I had never tried it before the update so can't say for sure whether it was any good before the update, is anyone else having any trouble.
I am having no issues whatsoever. prior to the update and after.
what is your carrier? are you rooted?
I worked NAB last week and everyone had ifruits. they all had spotty coverage inside and had to go to certain places in the building (i was in the central building) to get a signal.
the max (stock, non rooted sprint) had LTE (!!!!!) coverage even around all of the RF that was flooding the place. none of the carriers had temp cell sites on location, so we all had to deal with avail cellular coverage that is normally around the Vegas convention center.
i was beyond impressed of the great coverage. the 800 mhz LTE band really shined. The little LTE spark icon thingy was so cute to watch when I was uploading videos to instagram, watching netflix in HD in downtime, watching NAB updates from the web...
one thing I can recommend is after such major updates, a factory reset is often a good rule of thumb to do. perhaps do a prl and profile update may (or may not) help.
depending on your carrier, it could be a temporary issue. test the max in different areas/zip codes and see if its the same issues. send a ticket to your carrier and see if they can find out if an issue is going on in your area.
in case you are thinking about rolling back to a prior OS, you cant unless you root.
