Silence email notifications at night

Has anyone found a way to silence email notifications at night? So far the only way that I've found is to setup a Smartaction to turn off/on my data and wifi connections at certain times. I'd like to keep the connections and just automatically silence the notifications.

I just swipe the little sound icon on the start screen before I go to bed...unless you need to keep the ringer audible.

I use a slightly modified stock Smart Action called Sleep Rule. The trigger is Charging Status - Using a wall socket and the actions are Ringer Silent and then I set up a bunch of VIP callers that can still get through for emergencies.

So whenever I plug the phone into the wall charger (every night while I sleep) the phone is silenced but family can still get through to me. Works great!

Tasker is a lot like Dos was, very powerful but a steep learning curve.

How do you set up VIP callers that can get through?

It is one of the options under actions. It's titled Ring loud for important people.

Works perfectly! I also added that I want the clock to launch when I charge the phone using the wall plug. Very nice.
