Most "silent camera" apps don't let you make 5MP pictures. The only one I have seen do it is:

This is my normal camera app and it works fine on the Sharp rom. It can take 5MP pix just fine with it.

Now... will it save pictures to disk on CM9. Could someone give it a try? :D

That app just silents the click sound on the regular stock camera.It's useless as a button on a shithouse door for CM9 cause the CM9 stock camera can't save pics.Read the description.

I think the point we can take from this is that the CM9 camera functions do somewhat work (assuming the camera app makes calls to CM9). So there is hope that the developers will be able to tweak the libraries to make the thing work. Perhaps it has something to do with the resolution (working in low res).
 
i have been playing with one camera specefically its the 4.2 nexus camera and one out of 30 times u can get a pic just blurry and u have to play with the settings to even get that figured i would let u guys know that cam is basically useless also
