Help silent mode problems?

When I put my phone on silent and put it in my pocket for a while and then pull it out again it's not on silent anymore. I always make sure to lock my phone before putting it in. What is causing this?

I don't think locking your phone actually locks the volume keys as well so the volume key must be rubbing or something

nope, pushing volume keys when phone is locked does not turn off silent mode.. not only 2.3.5 firmware at least.. ive heard of problems like this, silent mode turning itself on and off randomly.. not sure if anyone found a solution though, sorry

I'm having the same problem. I put into silent mode and watched screen. After about 15 second it went back to audible mode.

I played with it and it stayed in silent mode. When I tried to put into audible, it would then, after about 15 seconds, revert back to silent.
