Silly CWM question

Hi all.

I am running Checkrom 6 with NEAK 1.4 and just tried to do a CWM backup. I got a message about it needing CF-Root and certain features being disabled and there was no option on there too backup.

I tried going the other way and backing up through the restore menu where you power up the phone in that mode and it started backing up but gave up and froze at the backing up data phase.

Have installed ROM Manager and tried that way but it just fails.

I used ODIN to root and am sure it was a Cf kernel but I don't really undstand all this. What do I need to do?

Thanks Shotgun. An updated NEAK or updated CWM?
Sorry for silly noob question but I always slightly panic where XDA is involved. It's quite intimidating and a lot of it is double Dutch.

As shotgun has said its the kernel you need to update

dont be intimidated by xda, i use that site as a sort of reference library,theres that many questions being asked all the time it gets confusing.You will start to understand all the different terms getting banded around and eventually start too skip over all the drivel thats asked 1000000000 times because noone seems to be able to read the first post anymore.

then you always got this forum over here when stuff goes really wrong and you cant see the answer
 
Thanks iT0mm0. I must say, I do love this forum because it has all the stuff that you need and the XDA stuff is sort of here but better explained for people like me with limited intelligence.

I don't suppose you know where this updated NEAK kernel is do you please? I know people may say to just search XDA but I have tried that and all I get is the NEAR ROM which features NEAK. My head hurts :eek:
