SIM Backup/Copy

I'm getting a new SIM, what's the best way to copy all my contact info from my current SIM and add them to my new one? Should I be using the sync software?

P.S. The reason I'm getting a new SIM is because I've been with O2 for years and only just realised the reason I haven't been getting 3G/HSPA is because my SIM isn't 3G enabled.

Click the phone button as though you are going to make a call, then press the menu button & select people.
Now press the menu button again & select import/export.
The options are there

Why store them on the SIM? Store them on the phone.
