Sim card issues

Guest
Hello, I'm having issues with my S5 not reading the micro sim installed. I'm 100% sure the sim card is installed correctly but my phone just says "No SIM Card". The strange thing here is that the micro sim card was working just fine until I replaced it with a larger sim card for a few hours. When I reinstalled the micro sim after I was done with the larger sim, it wouldn't read anymore. Apparently it can only read larger sims now.
And this is not the first time this has happened. The exact same thing happened with my Note 3, which doesn't read micro sims anymore after I had earlier replaced a micro sim with a regular sim.
Any suggestions?

I take it you were using an adapter to accommodate the smaller micro-SIMs. You may have actually damaged the SIM holder, and it's no longer making proper contact with the micro-SIMs, and it sounds like you've managed to do it twice, once with the Note 3 and now with your current S5. The SIM holder would have to be replaced, a job for a repairer or Samsung service.

The S5 (and Note 3) will only accept a microSIM, so I can't see how you managed to use a larger SIM in the first place. The SIM holder in the device simply isn't physically large enough.

One thing that comes to mind to see if it's the actual sim card or the holder is to try the sim in another phone just to see if it will recognize it. That would take a lot of the guess work out of it for you for sure!
