Help Sim Card Not Recognized with Extended Battery

Hi everyone,

So I have searched and have not come to a thread with the same issue I am having.

I bought the extended battery from BatteryBay.net. I decided to give the thing a whirl a week later after receiving it. So I popped it in last night, looked like it had a good amount of juice on it which was great. But then I realized that the SIM Card on the Esteem was not being recognized with the Extended Battery. I thought this was rather bizarre so I went ahead and swapped it out to the original battery and the SIM Card was recognized again.

So do you think it is the battery or..?

Thanks :)

Thats weird i got same battery from same place i dont see how the battery could bother the uicc card from being used, try to trouble shoot it some i remember after flashing the broken out rom it would say no service but after internet sd card finished reading it would start working again. try to reboot your phone or reflsahing whatever rom your using.

first time since december of 2011 when i got my esteem i dropped my phone and to my amazement nothing happened to it i guess i jynxed myself when i told a buddy i have yet to drop my phone anyways i know what u saying and it is a pain in the butt to be swapping battery and case every now and then all i can say is use it for a while u might get use to it like i did.

I don't know. I am an infamous phone dropper when it comes to my phone. I last 21 hours from 75% with very very high use of my phone yesterday. I really like the battery life but I just can't bring myself to being without a case...

well theres a way to modify a case to fit your extended battery its been posted on the forum but im not sure if you would go through all that especially with a sharp utility knife i swear these companies need to start making cases for extended battery users there's money to be made!

Yea i saw those videos and threads. I don't know if i want to go through all that trouble myself seeing that i am not all that dexterious. If only companies would start making extended battery cases, that would be awesome. Or even take custom orders? Ah well.

I bought the Lg Esteem "dock" from Metro when I ordered my phone. was worth the $60.
it comes with another 1500 milamp battery.

best part about it..... I have NEVER plugged a charger into my phones USB port.
The Dock charges the extra battery while i'm draining the current one.

Even with heavy usage, constantly streaming music, and taking pictures... the dock charges the secondary battery faster than my phone drains the first one.

Only issues...
1 once a day I must open the case to swap batteries.
2 The "dock" is now an important part of my phone (IE it comes to work and goes home with me everyday) It's always charging my spare. One charging at work that I use at night. And one charging at home overnight that I use the following afternoon

The Plus Side....
I have a Hard/silicon case protecting my phone at all times. Because I use 2 normal sized batteries, not one JUMBO that Requires another phone back.
