Help Sim Card slot????

Just got this phone on ebay and went to install the sim card. In the sim card slot is a black thing (I assume a sim card tray???) I can not slide this thing out all the way, does anyone know how I can insert the sim card???

I believe it is a sim card adapter
 
Push from the back with your finger nail; there should be enough space for you to push it out on the side other side. Goodluck.
